Built on polished, raised wooden platforms with a thatched roof, Jongomero’s central area incorporates classic luxury that does not detract from the beautiful surrounds. The lounge is divided into two sections with sumptuous sofas and African artworks; the dining space offers large and smaller private tables, enabling guests to mingle or enjoy their privacy, depending on their holiday preference. Jongomero’s raised tents offer both intimacy and luxury. With polished wooden floors and thatched roofs, these hybrid tent structures take camping to another level. Each is tastefully furnished with an eight-foot-wide (2.5-metre) emperor bed, mosquito nets and touches of leather and reclaimed dhow wood. The en-suite bathrooms come with hot running water for the showers and stylish basins. Topping it all off is the private deck overlooking the riverbed.
