Lapa Rios Lodge

Lapa Rios or the 'River of Scarlet Macaws' was named after the owners witnessed hundreds of the bright red birds fluttering over the lush forest, a sentiment that captures the enchanting setting. Built as a collection of treehouses, the lodge sits within a 1,000-acre private reserve on the southern-most tip of the Osa Peninsula, where winding pathways treat you to the sight of chattering monkeys, dozing sloths and banana-billed toucans (among a cast of 300 other species). A place to encounter this spectacular wilderness without having to 'rough' it, Lapa Rios prides itself on doing their part to protect it while sharing its wonders with guests.
