A high-ceilinged, light-filled lobby offers ample seating for guests arriving, leaving, or simply waiting. Walk through to the courtyard and you'll feel the atmosphere settle – the pool, neatly trimmed lawn and bags of seating provide a welcome oasis. There is a slick bar and sophisticated restaurant with an outdoor patio for less formal dining. Much thought has been put into the decor, which is quite contemporary though still comfortable, with plenty of colour and personality.
Accommodation is in 12 double and twin-bed suites, four with inter-leading doors for families or groups travelling together. Larger rooms have a lounge with sofas and an extra-large desk. All have en-suite bathrooms with rain-showers, deep bathtubs and double basins. The finishings throughout are elegant and uncluttered – yet there's a real sense that the designers have made every effort to ensure that guests feel at home.
One of the fastest-growing cities in Africa, Lusaka is becoming a major commercial hub in the region. The ever-evolving skyline and profusion of shopping malls are a testament to the blistering pace of urban growth. The city draws many business travellers and those in transit to Zambia's spectacular national parks, including South Luangwa, Kafue and Victoria Falls. If you're here for more than a day it's worth checking out the botanical gardens and the National Museum.
The commercial heart of the copper country, Lusaka is a quirky and perfectly ‘African’ capital city.
