Lemala Ndutu Tented Camp

In keeping with the Lemala ethos, the camp has been designed, built and is run by local East Africans, and it's a great success. Lemala Ndutu's communal area has separate lounge and dining area and a bar, all furnished with leather sofas, chandeliers, rugs and other fine pieces. Enjoy a pre-dinner drink at the campfire, then head to the dining area for an excellent meal. Kick back in the lounge, with its library and collection of games. Wi-fi, battery-charging available.

Stay in a safe and spacious tent, one of 12, each fitted with wooden floors, two double beds and many of the little luxuries that really refresh you after a day in the wild. After an evening game drive, your tent attendant will fill your safari shower with steaming hot water to wash away the dust. There's a flush toilet (a bit slow to refill), running water, mosquito nets and 24-hour electricity provided by solar power and back-up generators.

Don't miss a second of game viewing. Take a day drive, stopping for a picnic lunch, to see the huge number of species we've mentioned. (The only downside is the number of other safari vehicles. This is a wildlife hotspot, so it's very popular.) Guided walking safaris can be arranged. In the evening, watch the "Bush TV" – the animals that parade within eyesight as you sit at the firepit.
