Luangwa Bush Camping

There’s not much to see at the Luangwa Bush Camp, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have everything you need. Meals are simple, fresh and tasty and you’ll be astounded by what the chefs prepare in their tiny bush kitchen. Mornings begin at the campfire with a steaming cup of tea, and end gazing into the embers while listening to the sounds of the bush around you. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Sleeping tents are traditional, A-frame camping tents that are big enough to stand up in. Beds are mattresses on the floor, complete with cosy bedding, and whilst there is no electricity, paraffin lanterns are practical and evocative. The bucket shower and bush loo are shared, but one thing is for certain – there’s always hot water!

The emphasis at the fly camp is most certainly walking, walking and a little bit more walking. The Nsefu Sector is a beautiful part of the South Luangwa, home to hot springs, open plains and pretty Miombo forests, and you’ll have the chance to discover the area (and the plentiful game) on foot.
