Traditional styled thatched roofs and high wooden beamed ceilings allow in as much light as is possible to the open aired sides of the main reception area and hotel beyond. Each of the restaurants have distinct styles and themes ranging from the crisp, blue french riviera influenced Beach Rouge to the colourfully named Duck Laundry, offering contemporary Chinese dishes. The focal point rests on the expansive two tiered pool that flows down in cascading terraces out towards the sea.
The 174 rooms are neatly decorated with simple and stylish modern flairs. Rich, white cotton is the perfect palette for the splashes of bright Mauritian fauna and flora though white washed slate windows. The suites and villas each have their own unique spaces, the well designed, minimalist approach with vintage trunks used as side tables, plush couches in delicate greys accentuated with dabs of bright pillows make for hours of lounging about perfection.
Time here is what you make of it. Seclude yourself in the beachside tranquility, moving between spa and sea with quick stop offs in the palatial horizon swimming pools. Or opt for the active approach with a host of water sports and activities like boat trips, hiking, water skiing, windsurfing and beach volleyball. As with most of the hotels in the Lux chain there are outdoor cinemas, delicious ice cream trucks and evening entertainment around the bar areas.
