Having been recently renovated the new central thatch roofed dining and lounge area has a delightfully homely atmosphere. An indoor fire place sits at its heart with comfortable rattan seating and wooden dining furniture surround by traditional artifacts and plenty of books for travel inspiration. A communal fire pit complete with safari chairs is fantastic for the cooler evenings under the canopy of yellow Acacia trees. Sandy pathways lead out into the forest towards the canvas tents.
21 permanent tents are built up on raised platforms under thatch and canvas, a delightful verandah with safari chairs to stretch out in. Large, attractive wooden bed frames with comfortable linens and mosquito netting offer you into the forest from where you rest your head. An indoor shower and toilet behind canvas screening completes the perfectly pretty picture. The tents are spread out over enough distance to afford privacy but only a short walk from the main restaurant and bar.
This is an ideal base camp if you are looking to spend your days exploring Manyara National Park, the main entrance to the park being 5 minutes away. There is a nearby village and a shorter distance away the larger town of Mto wa Mbu where you can take guided cultural tours.Hire a bike and follow some trails or partake in an early morning bird or forest walks to make the most of the cooler hours and the serene wildlife.
