Tucked under the leafy canopy of an ancient Morukuru tree on the banks of the Marico River in the Madikwe Game Reserve, lies this perfectly decadent, ultra-luxurious home. Ideal for honeymooners, couples or a small family, Owner’s House has two huge en-suite bedrooms surrounded by decks and shared indoor and outdoor spaces. Your own private butler, chef, game ranger and nanny will ensure that your family’s every whim is catered for. Morukuru invites you to do whatever you want, whenever you want, making this the ultimate tailored safari holiday experience.

Morukuru Owner’s House combines contemporary styling with handpicked African artworks and décor. The setting is completely wild - on the banks of the Marico river and surrounded by African wildlife -but the house offers every luxury, including a team of 8 staff at your service, home office facilities, a superb wine cellar, high speed wifi, stereo, dvds, cds, a small library and even the opportunity to indulge in a Victorian tub bath on a deck outside under the stars.
Wood, stone and glass provide a seamless flow between in- and outdoors. The two huge bedrooms are stylishly decorated in natural shades, accented with bright African colours. Doors open wide onto a wrap-around deck surrounded by trees, and the combination of dappled shade and the sound of nature is deeply restorative. You can also choose to spend a night in your private elevated hide next to the water’s edge – an unforgettable way to experience life in the wild.
Experience productive wildlife interactions in your own private vehicle with a safari guide and wildlife tracker. You may encounter rare African wild dogs as well as the big 5. Guided nature walks and fishing are a wonderful way to get close to nature. Try your hand at African drumming, enjoy a spa treatment or relax around the heated pool. A magical experience is being left alone in your private hide in a vast plain at the water’s edge.
Inspired by 'Operation Phoenix', the Morukuru Goodwill Foundation supports wildlife conservation and community initiatives in and around Madikwe Game Reserve. Key projects include partnerships with Molatedi Village, support for local schools and nature reserves, and the 'Safaris with a Purpose' project. Additionally, the 'Pack for a Purpose' initiative encourages travellers to bring supplies for community projects. A contribution of $5,20 per guest, which is included in the nightly rate, goes towards the above goals.
It’s easily accessible, malaria-free and you’ll spot the Big Five – what’s not to love?
