The main dining area is set underneath a large ebony tree entwined with vines, a beautiful rustic bar envelops the trunk of a large tree at its centre with views over the nearby river. Sandy floors and reed walls create a sense of back to the basics, all amenities met without the fuss and frills. In the camp it's not about opulence but more the connection with the bush that you are here to experience, and you won’t be disappointed.
With only four reed- walled and thatch roofed chalets able to accommodate a maximum of eight guests this is a wonderfully intimate camp relishes in creating an intimate space for you to relax in. Large outdoor showers, light and simple African decor touches and an array of open windows, covered with gauze, frame the outside bush. Piping hot showers in the evenings after game drives and shaded verandas with chairs overlooking the riverbed complete the simple, rustic atmosphere.
Game drives and walking safaris will reveal elephants, large herds of buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, impala and eland, as well as the resident Mwamba lion pride. The thick, riverine bush is also perfect for leopard sightings, particularly in the evenings. Guests may also choose to sleep out at the Numbu platform or spend a night fly camping, and during the day, there are several fantastic photographic hides, ready for you to while away the hours.
