About Naboisho Camp

Tranquil luxury and style and an excellent range of safari activities.
If we only had one word to describe Naboisho Camp, it would be soothing. Located in the middle of the beautiful, 55,000-acre Mara Naboisho Conservancy, it’s peaceful and tranquil and the staff are simply lovely, attending to your every need but also making you feel like part of the family. Interiors are solid yet stylish – think muted colours, enormous cream sofas and candelabras in the dining room – and the views across the grasslands are glorious. In fact, the only things that aren’t soothing are the activities, which are jam-packed full of wildlife, excitement and intrigue. Just the way we like them, then.

Property details

The property

The dining and lounge tents are enormous structures with lovely, carpet-covered floors and are positioned in a semicircle overlooking the acacia-dotted plains. The lounge is adorned with puffy, cushioned sofas, inviting armchairs and a beautiful, stone fireplace. The dining room serves as an interactive area with long tables and elegant chairs. There’s also a viewing deck, a small swimming pool with several loungers, and a campfire to welcome in the evening after a day-long safari.

The rooms

There are nine luxurious en-suite tents, two of which are slightly larger and serve as family options. Laid out with privacy in mind, feel totally immersed in the surrounding wilderness with all your homely comforts at your finger tips. Each tent has an indoor and outdoor shower, a king sized or twin beds, inviting furniture and even a daybed from which to survey your personal corner of the bush.

Activities

An incredible variation of activity is available at Naboisho Camp, keeping you busy from dawn until dusk. Game drive usually takes place in the private, secluded conservancy, affording the benefit of night drives and off-roading in pursuit of the numerous big game species. The other game drive option is a full day, with picnic, in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, no off-roading allowed. For the more adventurous, there is walking safari and fly-camping, getting you out of your comfort zone and down to eye level with the animals. Bush walks focus your attention more on the smaller forgotten creatures of a safari getaway. And finally just to change things up, visit the local Maasai village for a touch African culture.

Insiders Tip

When your morning coffee arrives at your room, take a few moments to sit on the veranda and watch the sun peaking its first rays across the horizon. One of the best ways to start the day, hands down.

The impact of your stay

Naboisho Camp is owned by Asilia Africa who pioneers sustainable investments in vulnerable East African wilderness areas, fostering conservation economies for local communities and increasing biodiversity. Through collaboration with stakeholders and guest contributions, they achieve significant positive impacts. Their latest project, focusing on the Usangu Wetlands in Tanzania's Ruaha National Park, aims to promote sustainable tourism while preserving the region's unique ecosystem and biodiversity, ensuring long-term benefits to conservation and local communities. A contribution of $10 per guest, which is included in the nightly rate, goes towards the above goals.
