Nkorho is a small camp, with solid-walled central structures, roofed in traditional thatch, that ramble from bar and dining room to several lounges. Outside, decks overlook the well-visited waterhole, or the rock-lined pool. There's a traditional boma in which dinners are served beneath the night sky, and you'll be treated to foot-stomping local entertainment. Don't miss a candlelit dinner in the bush either - you'll feel all the drama and romance of safaris of old.
Seven superior chalets and one honeymoon suite are scattered along walkways that radiate from the main area. Rooms are well-built with solid walls and a thatched roof, giving them the permanent feel of a hotel room. They have those welcome permanent amenities too: en-suite bathroom with shower and bath, and air-conditioning. The honeymoon suite has a deep bathtub and a four-poster bed. All rooms have French doors that lead to a small patio with a view of the landscape.
Drives are the principal activity in this Big Five game region, as they're the best way to clock the most species and to witness intense action. Look out for the most likely predators (cheetah, lion, leopard, hyena and wild dogs), along with elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and lesser-known species (pangolin, bat-eared fox, bushbaby), which are more rarely spotted. Take a guided bush walk to observe birds, insects and plants, and, if you're willing, to safely approach potentially dangerous game.
