Offbeat Mara Camp

Two open sided canvas tents serve as the heart of the camp. Decorated with plush and colourful pillows and throws and earthy carpets underneath light wooden furniture the atmosphere is instantly cozy and homely. A small library and bar area offer more private spaces to tuck yourself away if you wish. Sundowners are set around a communal bonfire, the perfect way to take in the night after a day of game viewing.

As one of the smaller camps in the area there are six tents which creates a lovely intimate atmosphere around camp. Four of the canvas tents have comfortable double and twin beds while two family tents cater for those with little ones. There are flush loos, clean hot showers with a little sitting area with solar powered torches and lamps and a small verandah outside to take your morning coffee and watch the wildlife stroll by. There are also 2 brand new, much bigger family tents available now.

With 90% of the staff being locals from the area, everyone at camp displaying a great sense of pride and efficiency in the way they work. The best times to visit to get the most out of the migration are between July and August, where masses of wildebeest and zebras make their way across the plains. There are daily night and day game drives as well as guided walking safaris.
