The main area is an unusual fusion of open-plan adobe-style and North African-inspired architecture. The lounge, bar and dining areas are sheltered by domed ceilings, and partial walls make the most of the uninterrupted views of the desert and surrounding mountains. A large freshwater infinity pool and sundeck overlook the plains, and there is a traditional Namibian open-sided boma for outdoor dining. All areas are linked via raised wooden walkways for a minimal impact on this pristine landscape.
There are seven beautiful en-suite rooms with huge beds and private sundecks with queen-sized daybeds, and a vast two-bedroomed, self-contained suite with a lounge, shaded gazebo and private veranda. The bathrooms are fabulous, with freestanding oval stone baths and an indoor shower (and an outdoor one too). The interiors are decorated in desert shades – terracotta, yellow, cream; the furniture is locally carved; the mosquito netting is generous; and the views stretch to the hills and the white-hot sky.
