Ol Tukai Lodge is one of the larger safari establishments in Kenya’s Amboseli National Park, with 80 luxurious African-style rooms and a vast central area set within manicured lawns. The rooms are protected from the ever-present herds of elephant and other passing wildlife by an unobtrusive boundary fence for peace of mind. This is an Eco-rated lodge, with excellent modern facilities offering a choice of family-friendly accommodation and romantic seclusion, with the special three-bedroom, sole-use Kibo Villa for the ultimate private experience. There are plenty of activities available at the lodge, and guided game drives are offered in the surrounding national park, which always promise to be epic.

Meals are served in the vast indoor dining room, outside on the terrace, or in a secluded bush setting under the stars. The glamorous Elephant Bar is a popular spot for a sociable cocktail whilst a second bar area on the rooftop terrace offers spectacular views of the surrounding reserve and Mt Kilimanjaro at sunset. There is a shop selling all sorts of safari bits and pieces, a health spa, comfortable guest lounge with Wi-Fi and a large swimming pool and sun deck a short distance from the main area.
There are eighty luxury chalet-style twin or double rooms constructed from local timber, thatch and river stone, with uninterrupted views of Kilimanjaro and the surrounding wildlife-rich marshlands. All have en-suite bathrooms and private terraces. The self-contained Kibo Villa is a beautiful, sole-use cabin with three bedrooms, a roof terrace and jacuzzi. All the accommodation is beautifully appointed with a simple luxurious African style, modern amenities, and well positioned within the lovely gardens to offer a peaceful retreat.
The lodge offers a fabulous array of activities, including guided bird walks through the grounds, informative conservation displays and regular lectures from the elephant research team and resident cultural experts. Guided game drives are offered in Amboseli National Park, with excellent photographic opportunities of the beautiful elephant herds against an iconic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro (bring your camera just for that!). For something more relaxing, spa treatments are at your service.
Catching sight of those famous tuskers and other wildlife from the large pool, which looks directly onto the plains.
If you're taking a morning or afternoon off from safari activities, enjoy a siesta or bird watching walk in the garden, or learn a little about elephant conservation from the research team.
Mount Kilimanjaro can be admired from almost every corner of the lodge, but certain rooms enjoy a wider view of the savannah for a little armchair safari-ing.
