Tucked away in Oranjezicht at the foot of Table Mountain, this beautifully restored 1903 heritage villa is a leafy refuge in the heart of Cape Town. With just 10 elegant rooms (including a standout penthouse apartment), emerald-green gardens, and a sparkling pool terrace, it's the perfect base for exploring the Mother City. Renovated in 2023, traditional charm combines perfectly contemporary style - think double-volume ceilings, sweeping staircases, and Charlotte Rhys amenities throughout. Outside, the famous Kloof Street and its assortment of world-class restaurants is on the doorstep, while Clifton's pristine beaches and the V&A Waterfront are a quick 15-minute drive away.

The property

The lush landscaped gardens create a tranquil oasis, while the terrace, scattered with elegant sun loungers and umbrellas, is perfect from morning coffee until evening sundowners - and of course, Table Mountain is your ever-present backdrop. A cosy dining room serves up scrumptious hot breakfasts to complement the continental buffet, plus there's a light à la carte lunch menu and carefully curated selection of local wines. There's also off-street parking outside if you've rented a car, plus an inverter system for uninterrupted connectivity during load shedding (a must in SA).

The rooms

Cool, calm and very collected, the 10 spacious rooms range from deluxe, superior and luxury to the impressive 70m² penthouse apartment. Some have private balconies with superb views of the city and Lion's Head, but all have incredibly comfortable King or Queen beds, small indoor sitting areas, dressing tables and air conditioning. The standout penthouse has a much larger open-plan lounge, a fully equipped kitchen and a bedroom with a private balcony.

Activities

While the hotel itself is perfectly suited for relaxation by the pool or in the gardens, Cape Town's adventures are right on your doorstep. Kloof Street's vibrant restaurant scene is within walking distance, whilst the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway is just 10 minutes away and the award-winning beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay beckon over the mountain.
