Communal areas are scattered throughout the property. There is an indoor and outdoor dining area with views of the surrounding suburbs, numerous lounge areas, two open-sided bandas, a lovely pool and a lawn bar. A combination of African and European style gives Onsea House a comfortable home-away-from-home feel.
Onsea House has four guest rooms – two in the main house that open on to a shared terrace and two in a cottage in the garden, each with a private wooden balcony. All the rooms are similar in style, simply but elegantly furnished with four-poster beds draped with mosquito nets and en-suite bathrooms with both a bath and shower.
Onsea House is a great base from which to enjoy a wide variety of activities, although most do come at an extra cost. A visit to Arusha National Park is a real treat, with one-day safaris further afield also available. Explore the traditional cultural and community projects nearby; buy holiday reminders at lesser-known retail hotspots recommended by your hosts; enjoy local sporting facilities to get a bit of a workout; or simply chill on a pool recliner, cocktail in hand.
Onsea House is an ideal spot to start or finish your safari, offering a relaxing environment with great food and fantastic spa services on offer. A night or two here at the start of your trip will have you primed for safari!
Don't miss dinner at neighbouring Machweo. Head chef Axel Janssens blends African and European flavours and styles to create cuisine that's truly magical.
The grounds of Onsea are quite small and the noise from the local hotspots and nearby church can sometimes filter through, especially at weekends.
Dusty, rustic and a little bit quirky, there’s plenty to do in Arusha before or after a safari.
