About Palace Hotel

A glossy hotel gazing across the Imperial Palace Gardens with service that is hard to beat
Standing grandly beside the water and overlooking the picturesque Imperial Palace Gardens, everything at the Palace Hotel is as smooth as silk, from the service to the impeccable interiors. The original hotel opened in 1961 and although it has since been entirely rebuilt, a sense of heritage remains. From the moment you enter the bright lobby, the signature scent (aptly named 'Pure Serenity') hangs in the air and sets the tone for your stay. It could be moments spent at the heavenly spa or dining moat-side as swans glide by, but the Palace Hotel is something special - and you couldn't be more central if you tried.

Property details

The property

Living up to Tokyo's name as a gastronomic gem, the hotel has a whopping total of ten restaurants and bars. Take your pick from private dinner settings, serving everything from sushi to tempura, to French-Japanese fusion prepared with ingredients fetched from the market that morning, and breakfast feasts served beside the water. The Palace Hotel also boasts the one and only Evian Spa in Japan, a serene retreat with a marble sauna, heated baths and a pool with a serious view.

The rooms

Chic and light-filled, the rooms all have leaf-printed carpets, uncluttered furnishings and pretty colours that reflect the Imperial Palace Garden just outside. In some rooms, you'll enjoy a full view through floor-to-ceiling windows or from the private balcony (the Premier Suites have two). The glass-walled bathrooms are impeccable with deep bathtubs, a shower and plenty of sweet-smelling amenities. The rooms are also equipped with a Nespresso machine and Japanese tea set. You'll even find a heated sleep mask on your pillow in the evenings.

Activities

Bound to be your first stop, the Imperial Palace Gardens are deserving of a stroll, before you head off to see the sights. The hotel is close to bustling shopping streets where some of the world's biggest brands can be found, as well as historic districts where you'll find authentic kimono makers. Be sure to wander along the Nihonbashi Bridge, a beautiful symbol of the Edo era. There are also dozens of museums to peruse including the diverting National Museum of Modern Art.
