The property

With sleek black and wood hardware, the RBG Bar & Grill offers a selection of international fare and Costa Rican specialties. Their complimentary buffet breakfast is delicious and includes favourites like gallo pinto. The bar is low-key, perfect for afternoon drinks or an evening rendezvous, and the hotel also boasts a state-of-the-art gym and outdoor pool for a dip or a laidback few hours on a lounger.

The rooms

The Park Inn has 117 rooms across multiple floors, with views that appreciate with height. Wide picture windows let in plenty of natural light and bed runners offer a pop of colour in a palette of greys and creams. The rooms have two queens or one King-size bed , topped with orthopaedic mattresses for total comfort. Other amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, a plasma TV and coffee maker. The bathrooms are functional and pristine with a spacious shower (but no tub). The suites feature a lovely lounge and dining area as well.

Activities

Venture into San José to discover a little of its history, whether it's with a visit to the Jade Museum, which houses the largest collection of American jade, or strolling through the city's plazas. Enjoy the pretty scenes at La Sabana Park, peruse the Costa Rican Art Museum, or enjoy local cuisine along the Paseo Colon. Further afield, there are hiking, rafting and cycling trips available, as well as tours of the Britt Coffee farm to sample some of their world-renowned brews.
