Property details

The property

The lodge is impressive, especially when you consider it was built deep in the rainforest. The main building stands two-storeys tall and is home to all the main areas: the dining room, where buffet-style meals are enjoyed in long social tables, the bar offering an array of local beers, wine and cocktails, comfy and spacious lounging areas, a library, and even a gift shop. Rustic elegance is the name of the game, and wood and thatched roofs and warmly-lit wooden boardwalks connect everything together.

The rooms

Like in other Rainforest Expedition hotels, rooms have an open wall facing the jungle for a true glamping feel. The plush beds have heavy duty mosquito nets and the ensuite bathrooms offer eco-friendly toiletries and hot showers (although a cold shower isn’t too bad in the humid heat!). Electricity runs on set time blocks until 10pm, while only comfort and suites have WiFi (weather permitting). The in-room hammock is a dreamy spot for a siesta, while nocturnal nature sounds are a privileged soundtrack to fall asleep to.

Activities

Whichever activities you choose, you’ll wish you had more time. The abundance of wildlife surrounding the lodge will blow your mind, and you'll explore it on a dozen different excursions with the amazing guides. Visit a macaw or mammal clay lick, climb the canopy tower, roam the river in the dark spotting creatures, or check out the medicinal plants trail. The citizen science activities are definitely a plus, as are activities catering to little ones. You’ll leave with plenty of amazing animal photos and a whole lot of knowledge.

What you'll love

What you'll love

As part of the lodge’s “Wired Amazon” program, guests are all citizen scientists and participate in projects that involve camera traps, drone photography, and helping researchers study possibly undiscovered insects.
Insiders tip

Insiders Tip

Bear in mind that the rooms are open to the outdoors so, to avoid any surprises, leave bags zipped up and on the shelves instead of the floor (and no food lying around).
Something to think about

Something to think about

Although Comfort rooms and Suites offer WiFi, it's often patchy or nonexistent depending on the weather - this is a rainforest after all and the location is pretty remote.
