About Reilly's Rock Hill Top Lodge

Explore the Swazi highlands at your leisure from this comfortable guest house.
Set in the Milwane Wildlife Sanctuary, one of Swaziland's pristine wilderness areas, Reilly's Rock Hilltop Lodge is the ideal place to perch in this mountain country. Now officially known as the Kingdom of Eswatini, it may be small in size but it's certainly rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage. The lodge itself has an intimate mountain cabin feel with six en-suite rooms and you can choose from self-catering options or the full whack. Activities-wise, enjoy the reserve's expanse through hiking, biking or game driving. The resident wildlife, which includes a number of antelope, will also help to set the scene.

Property details

The property

A spacious lounge offers a pleasant space for gathering and you'll find bookshelves stocked with the classics and plenty of comfy chairs for sinking into in front of the glow of a log fire. With indigenous wooden finishes and a country-farm feel, the cosiness factor is high. The adjacent dining room serves up an exceptional mix of international cuisine alongside some local favourites, and the veranda offers vast panoramas to enjoy whilst you munch.

The rooms

Four of the rooms at Reilly's are contained within the main house and are en-suite with twin or queen-sized beds and quaint decor. They have a decidedly frilly, floral decor, but they're nevertheless comfortable - sort of like being at Grandma's house! Reilly's Room has the added perk of a fireplace or you may like the separate cottage in the garden with its self-contained living space, lounge, fireplace and wraparound veranda. The two en-suite rooms make it ideal for a family or couples travelling together.

Activities

The reserve offers numerous self-guided activities for adventurers and low-key nature lovers alike. There is an extensive network of hiking and mountain biking trails and equestrians will love the on-site stables, staffed with professional horseback guides - and of course, the exceptional mountain terrain to explore. Cultural visits to the neighbouring Chief's Village offer insight into a traditional way of life from ancient agricultural activities, crafts and cooking.

We rather like the garden cottages for a tad more privacy during your stay.

Be aware that the wildlife here is limited. Mlilwane is more of a nature reserve than it is a game reserve.
