The high-roofed main area is a large, cool space, with plenty of intimate seating areas. All meals are served in the airy dining room. Don't miss breakfast buffet with its variety of cheeses, really good breads, meat (zebu, ham and turkey), fruit, pastries, cereals and delicious hot chocolate – enough to keep you going throughout the day. Dinners are mellow affairs, with soft lighting and a menu with something for everyone. Enjoy the spa, heated pool and free wi-fi.

The 42 rooms, all equipped with aircon, TV, wi-fi access and the regular facilities such as minibar and safe, are large and cool, with tiled floors, large beds and spotless bathrooms with excellent showers. You can stay in a twin room, a double (with queen-sized bed), a family room or the large luxury room. Some open to the garden, others to a balcony.

Wander through the gardens or visit the spa, where there's a Jacuzzi, a hammam, a heated pool and various massage and beauty therapy rooms. Visit the Lemur Park and its endearing occupants. The hotel is a popular wedding venue, so you may see a bridal couple posing for their cameraman in the gardens – a sign of good luck. Above all, just chill out.
