About Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge

A family-friendly lodge that's perfectly placed to witness all the wildlife action.
If you like the idea of top-notch game viewing without scrimping on creature comforts then Bush Lodge might just be the place for you. Set in the heart of 65,000 hectares of bushveld in the private (and very beautiful) Sabi Sabi Reserve bordering the Kruger, the wildlife in the area is unfailingly fantastic. The lodge itself is also rather lovely, combining colonial nostalgia with just enough modern sophistication to make you feel right at home. And with 35 years experience, the staff, guides and rangers really know how to make a safari truly special.

Property details

The property

The main areas are impeccably decorated with squashy leather sofas atop polished floors and white-washed walls showcasing a variety of striking African artefacts; think colonial nostalgia combined with modern elegance and you’ve hit the nail on the head. For relaxing, there’s the main lounge and dining room, a cosy bar, library and the best of them all, a huge decked terrace and swimming pool, perfectly placed to overlook the nearby waterhole (G&T optional).

The rooms

With 25 suites, Bush Lodge is larger than other properties in the area but still manages to remain intimate, charming and friendly. The air-conditioned suites are enormous with beautiful views of the endless bush and all have been expertly spaced for total privacy. Bathrooms are a treat with both indoor and outdoor showers for a true bush experience. If you’re feeling fancy, book the Mandleve Presidential Suite, a soothing refuge with stunning views and a private plunge pool.

Activities

Game drives depart daily in the morning and afternoon, and often last into the night. Aside from spectacular Big 5 sightings, Sabi Sabi is home to some exquisite birds, insects and flora and fauna and all are expertly picked out and explained by the guides. Visits to the local communities are also available and the ‘EleFun’ entertainment centre is an excellent way to keep little ones amused. And if you find a moment to yourself, head straight for the Amani Spa…

Leopards have been known to interrupt dinner and waltz right through the main boma, but don't worry - you'll be perfectly safe and it's a memory that will last a lifetime.
