With views of the tumbling rice terraces, there are two crescent-shaped infinity pools surrounded by four-poster day beds to lounge on. Nearby, there's a hot tub and yoga studio as well as the beautiful spa for luxuriating Balinese treatments. In an intimate, nature-forward setting, the Asri restaurant serves a fusion menu of Indonesian cuisine and internationally-inspired dishes; favourites include the Barramundi green mango salad and Balinese curry, and all are prepared with local, seasonal ingredients.
Looking quite at home in the verdant tropical gardens, the authentic villas and lumbungs all have alang-alang roofs and blend seamlessly into their surrounds. All have large canopy beds draped in white netting, which can be drawn up to reveal a tranquil view of the Sidemen scenery. Amenities range across the different room types but most have semi-open bathrooms with a rainfall shower and soaking tub. At the top end, the villas have a private pool and their own dining area.
You'll have ample opportunity to explore the rice terraces and natural wonders of Sidemen, whether you prefer to do so on foot, scooter or bicycle. Up the ante by hiking to the summit of Mount Agung for sensational views of the valleys beyond, or make your way to Sidemen waterfall for a refreshing dip. You can also enjoy guided tours of the nearby temples and explore local villages where you can learn Balinese dance, try your hand at playing gamelan music, or take a traditional cooking class.
