Delightful, traditional beach front house in a stunning location.
A villa on Kenya's South coast pressed against the shores of Msambweni Beach is a delightful way to spend your holidays. Built in 1985 and perched up on a slight cliff this Swahili styled house is surrounded by lush coconut palms, emulating all the creature comforts of a family home. You are going to be hard pressed not to find yourself completely giving in to lazy days with the family and friends lounging around the pool, playing on the beach or indulging in conversation surrounded by the spectacular beach sunsets and sweeping views of the Indian ocean

Property details

The property

White washed walls stretch up through two volumes to a rich traditional thatch roofing, surrounded by indigenous trees that provide a haven for local birds and monkeys.This beautifully appointed coastal home has three communal rooms, all of which open up to outside patios.Comfy shweshwe cushions and Swahili carved tables add a distinct Kenyan flair.The ping pong table and lounge all peer through arabesque plinths and window frames to the palms, baobabs and ocean beyond.

The rooms

Four spacious bedrooms rooms make up the homely accommodation for up to eight people (and a minimum of four). The sultan and Simba rooms both have large bathrooms, beautifully ornate Lamu four poster beds with mosquito netting and ample cupboard space. Two bedrooms in the north wing are perfect for the little ones as they are slightly smaller in size with twin beds and a shared bathroom.The real treat is that every room has a balcony with views to die for.

Activities

There is as much or as little as you would wish when it comes to activities in Msambweni. Beach walks or days by the pool are wonderfully relaxing. With Diani close by you have the options of dining out or going on dhow excursions, game drives in nearby Shimba Hills, windsurfing, diving , snorkeling and even night life for the folks.
