About Sausage Tree Camp

The embodiment of an exclusive and elegant Zambian bush experience
The Lower Zambezi National Park is still quite undeveloped, a pristine area that has been relatively saved against the ravages of mass tourism. At its heart, found along the Zambezi river banks, is Sausage Tree Camp. The wildlife may not be as diverse as other areas, but when you have your feet immersed in the waters of the Zambezi while seated around the table for a bush lunch or are canoeing along the river banks with elephants bathing alongside you, this exquisite camp will overwhelmingly charm you and you will want to return time and time again.

Comfy chairs to lounge in or a swimming pool to swim laps alongside the passing crocodiles and hippos, the Zambian wildlife will surround you form every photogenic angle. A delightful dinner out in the bush adds an extra element of top-drawer delight to this camp.

Each of the tents feel spacious and elegant, with large open-air en-suite bathrooms and teak doors that lead to your private deck with views over the water. The decor is minimalist but stylish. Soft overhanging materials styled like a bedouin tent are encased in earthy colours, creating a chic sanctuary.

Activities

With island hopping buffalo, herds of elephants some hundred strong along the rivers edge, the opportunity to get up close and personal with the wildlife a very real possibility. The morning and afternoon cruises are a fantastic way to explore the floodplains. As the Zambezi has some of the most spectacular fresh water sport fishing in the world attempting to catch the famous TigerFish, a relative of the piranha which can grow up to 15kgs, will be a real thrill.
