The emphasis here is definitely on satisfying your culinary preferences. At Stars, the resort's signature restaurant, Chef Reinbacher creates a ‘local fusion’ cuisine influenced by the culinary heritage of Mauritius and South Africa (the wines are South African too). Pebbles offers all-day international fare (try the curries – they're hot, in a good way!). Sip rum cocktails and enjoy a barbecue at the casual Fish and Rum Shack on the beach, weather permitting. Picnics can be arranged too.
Sixty-one units spread across the 14.5 hectare property offer accommodation to suit your budget. The smaller units have a beachfront balcony, private courtyard and outdoor shower; the luxurious villas have private, temperature-controlled pools, a garden and outdoor seating area. All the rooms are spacious, kept immaculate by the jolly housekeeping staff, and face the ocean, with glam tropical decor that combines local hardwoods and stone with comfortable beds and seating. We challenge you to tear yourself away from the views!
The prime attractions, of course, are the beach and that turquoise ocean. Lie on a lounger, cool drink in hand, and soak up the sun and the views. Or head for the ocean and brush up your watersports' skills. Attend a meditation session, play golf or tennis, explore the gardens and nearby sights, go shopping (look out for locally produced rum and cotton clothing) or visit the excellent spa. For young children, there's also a well-equipped kids' club.
