It’s up to you where to relax at Sindabezi – sink into one of the sofas at the main boma with a good book or head to the lounge, raised on stilts and tucked into the treetops, for sensational views over the river. In the dry season, the elephants are drawn to the luscious riverine greenery of the island and often swim across the water to munch, so make sure you have your camera ready. In the evening, follow the lanterns to the roaring fire and a romantic dinner on the river’s edge accompanied by the serene glow of the moon.

The 5 chalets are stylish, romantic and perfectly private. Soothing cream linens and quirky natural accessories add a touch of bush elegance and all have large canopied beds looking out to raised wooden verandas and the mighty Zambezi below. Bathrooms are open air with solar-powered (and very hot) showers and ‘loos with a view.’ The two honeymoon suites also feature bottomless bathtubs big enough for two.

After your batteries are fully recharged, make the most of the plethora of activities on offer from Sindabezi. Set your heart racing with a white-water rafting trip down the Zambezi or take to the sky in a helicopter for a birds-eye view of the Falls in all their glory.
