At the very end of the jetty, Longitude serves freshly-caught seafood dinners and the Chill Bar has layers of cushioned sit-outs at the water's edge - be sure to ask about the 'liquid experiences'. For an extra special dinner, enjoy five courses at the Chili Table in the resort's organic garden. Be sure to stop by Sip Sip, a sunken bar with tree-trunk stools and views of the large pool inset with circular lounges. The spa truly belongs on an island with nine treatment nests along the beach - plus a lovely open-air yoga studio.
Assembled from sustainable, local materials, the air-conditioned villas have a king-size bed with a hanging canopy and an en-suite bathroom with basins set in old-fashioned trunks. Water villas provide the perfect spot to relax with a hammock slung above the lagoon, as well as easy access for snorkelling, a sunken lounge and private coral garden - and some have an infinity pool! The two-bedroom beach villas each offer a rooftop dining deck, a spacious lounge and large pool with loungers facing the sea - where sunsets are rather glorious.
Six Senses is the only dive resort around so you'll easily have diving sites all to yourself, including the famous Hithadhoo Corner where more than 120 manta rays reside. Join the resort's marine biologist on an educational snorkelling excursion or cast your line from a traditional Maldivian fishing boat. Sail to a nearby island and enjoy a hike to the lake at its centre or park under a palm for lunch. Enjoy the water surrounding the resort with water skiing, kayaking and kite surfing.
