The entrance and main reception at Sultan Palace is spectacular with its high white walls and huge arched doorways. The main lounge and bar area has several lounging areas arranged in little clusters. The decor consisting of carved Zanzibari furniture, richly coloured fabrics and multi-coloured glass windows will remind one of Aladdin's Arabia . Breakfast and dinner are served out on the terrace of the main restaurant and has great views of the beach. There is a curio shop too.
The 15 air-conditioned suites at the Sultan Palace Hotel overlook either the ocean or the lush exotic gardens. They are constructed from white-washed walls and natural stone and are inspired by the rounded shapes of the Nautilus shell as well as the island's Arabian and African influences. Each suite is decorated differently, with unique drapes and local furnishings. Huge private terraces give guests direct access to long stretches of white sandy beaches. The suites are named after the garden flowers.
There are plenty of loungers and shaded areas at the beach for guests to relax. There is a small massage room overlooking the beach and a pool table for indoor games. If they are in the mood for adventure, then the hotel has a boat for snorkeling trips, and a dugout canoe for visiting the mangroves. Deep-sea fishing and diving can also be arranged. Excursions can also be arranged to Stone Town, spice farms, Jozani Forest and more.
