Scattered across the manicured lawns, Colonial-style buildings house restaurants of every flavour, each with a unique take on Vietnamese style. Tuck into succulent seafood BBQ by the pool and traditional regional cuisine at the beachfront pavilion, or swap spicy pho for French cuisine as the resident pianist tickles the ivories. Breakfasts are a medley of steaming dim sum, a la carte eggs and pancakes in the garden. The Beach Club is a white-umbrellaed terrace by day and vibrant cocktail lounge by night, and there are games aplenty at the Sports Bar.

The rooms

Under lazy ceiling fans, the rooms, suites and villas are laid with floral tiles, royal blue accents and original artwork that mirror the seascapes of Vietnam. Tropical and contemporary, each has King-size or twin beds facing the TV, a lounge area, and the bathrooms are slick with a large marble bathtub and rain shower; while the villas have a jacuzzi and private pool. Sheer drapes lead onto a balcony with a sea or garden view. The three-bedroom family villas house a living room, kitchenette, terrace and spacious pool. The rooms are set towards the rear of the resort and the villas are staggered closer and closer to the sea, but they don't all have a pool so it's worth being picky.
