Elevated on stilts on the dunes are the main deck, dining area and pool, a wide and sweeping space with spectacular views of the channel and sparkling ocean. At ground level, a small entertainment area has two swing beds if you need to recoup from the fresh and bountiful lunches and dinners.
Seven cabanas (one is a double) range across the dunes, all overlooking the beautiful waters of the Lamu Channel. Thatched with local makuti palm leaves, some have foundations of white-washed coral. The interiors are seaside perfect, with a netted large double bed, rustic furniture, hand-carved artifacts and en-suite bathroom and deck on the upper level, and a sitting room, lounging area and private dining area should you want to be alone. Some cabanas have two swinging beds.
The beach and ocean are the main focus of activities. Book the lodge's private speedboat to go skiing, snorkelling or diving, or paddle a kayak along the shoreline. Visit Lamu town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or soak up the sleepy island vibes at nearby Kizingoni Village, where men fish in dhows, women weave mats and kids play football on the beach. There's a yoga deck on site, and a massage service. And exploring the beach is a romantic treat!
