This symphonic old dame is the perfect place to celebrate an intimate occasion surrounded by leafy oaks. Explore the enchanting fairy garden and if you are lucky, socks and fluffy, the resident cats, might stroll past. Dine on contemporary South African inspired cuisine in the flagship light and airy Greenhouse Restaurant or try the delicious home grown ingredients at the Conservancy Restaurant.

The property

Old fashioned, but classy is the impression you get as you arrive at the Cellars-Hohenart, the distinct Cape Dutch architecture carefully maintained amidst a botanical gardeners dream setting. Three different lounge and bar areas scattered around the main house create the perfect hideaway corners, a sitting room tucked away near a warming fireplace. Floor to ceiling glass windows in the Greenhouse maximise the heavenly views over the cape indigenous flora that change through the seasons.

Classically beautiful and warmly decorated with individual looks, the 52 rooms at the Cellars-Hohenart ooze charm and comfort. The suites are very spacious and light with elegant touches of floral patterns and designer prints. Rooms in the Hohenhort wing have the best views and character, the luxury suites come with a private verandah or private garden, the second floor has views over the landscape and Cape Peninsula.

Activities

Being a 15 minute drive from the Cape Town city centre, you have the pleasure of being out in the quiet suburbs of Constantia and right on the doorstep of all the activities that the mother city has to offer. There's a heated pool, a Gary Player designed putting green, tennis court and on-site spa mean that you won't be completely devoid of any activity while on the grounds. A stroll through the gardens is a must.
