The lodge is designed to fit seamless into its natural surrounds. Arriving at the lodge you walk along a foot bridge that leads to the main open-sided dining area with fireplace, the chalets extending alongside out into the cliff face. Below the terrace is a pool area perfectly positioned to look out over the river.
There are just ten cottages built into the cliff-face to maximise the views. Simple rondavel-shaped rooms with exposed beams and neat furnishings make for a comfortable night in the bush. Large, open plan bedrooms each have their own fireplace, walk in showers and verandas with camp seating overlooking the thorny trees. Some cottages are perched high on a gorge facing out into park-perfect for sunsets.
What is going to surprise you is the quality of wildlife to be found in Nairobi National Park. Game drives are lead by knowledgable staff as well as excursions available to the nearby David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and shops for that that last minute gift. The great location of the lodge means that it is perfect for hiking, an experienced guide can be arranged to accompany you and impart their knowledge of the fauna and flora as you go.
A buzzing metropolis of quirky eccentricities and a growing fashion, arts and cultural scene.
