The property

This is a bed-and-breakfast establishment, and what a feast that first meal of the day is! Help yourself to pastries, fresh fruits, cold meats and cheeses from the buffet, and order hot meals cooked just the way you like them. Drinks are included, anywhere, anytime. In the evening, sit in the lovely lounge sipping sundowners while the hotel staff make dinner reservations and arrange a chauffeur to transport you, or stroll across to the neighbouring Peddlars restaurant and bar for a relaxed evening.

The rooms

Accommodation is in five suites and four double rooms, all of which are spacious and decorated in clean lines, with a white theme highlighted by pastel hues of lime green, pale terracotta or pale blue. Some rooms have a patio, others a separate lounge area. Like the bedrooms, the en-suite bathrooms are huge, with double basins, bath and shower, and blissful toiletries. The is country-style luxury at its best, with a well-stocked mini-bar to boot.

The prime focus here is on relaxing, but if you fancy exploring the historic Constantia winelands or dining at some of the Mother City's hottest restaurants, you're in luck – The Last Word is a stone's throw from top wine farms and eateries alike.
