Much of life at Menjangan is centred around its four-storey Bali Tower, which houses the reception and main restaurant. Breakfast is served alongside sublime views at the Forest Canopy Deck and later, sundowners overlooking the forest. At dinner, the menu consists of continental and Indonesian dishes, all prepared with as many locally-sourced ingredients as possible. You'll also find three open-air spa pavilions nestled amongst the mangroves for a massage whilst admiring the beach.
Constructed from wood and thatch, you can choose either a Monsoon Lodge room or a luxury Beach Villa. The former are a 10-minute buggy ride away from the beach and set around a pool, while the latter have direct access to the white sand beach and restaurant. The rooms are all air-conditioned and have WiFi access, as well as a selection of movies and books. The Beach Villas are designed in a traditional Joglo Javanese style and boast daybeds overlooking the ocean.
Set out in one of the Menjangan's double-decker, safari-style minibuses to explore West Bali National Park, keeping your fingers crossed for a chance to see the rare Bali starling. You can also enjoy the lush surroundings on foot, bicycle or horseback, or simply enjoy the views from the top floor of the resort's Bali Tower. And of course, there's the diving and snorkelling. Menjangan Island offers some of the best underwater scenes in Bali, and it's a mere 20-minute boat ride away from the resort.
Superlative snorkelling, diving, and exquisite hotels, far, far away from the tourist track.
