Set around a series of courtyards, the hotel is a reflection of its owner's love of the arts and original pieces are scattered throughout. Beautifully done in tropical hardwood furnishings and moss-coloured marble floors, Treeline's rooms are understated yet luxe. Local artists are well-represented, and all rooms have pretty ceramics and wall installations. Some rooms enjoy a private balcony, while others have banquette seating beside the huge picture window. Across the board, amenities include a pillow menu, glass bottles of water and aircon, while the Junior Suites enjoy a deep terrazzo bathtub, and the Executive Suites boast their own living and dining area.

You could spend a week at the Angkor Archaeological Park and still not run out of things to see, from the most iconic temple ruins to the lesser-visited jungle sites. The hotel has bicycles available if you fancy a gentle peddle through town and into the bucolic surrounds. We also recommend spending a little time browsing for handicrafts in Kandal Village or perusing the city's plentiful art galleries.
