Set beneath magnificent trees, the main guest area features a spacious lounge under high thatched ceilings, with classy African chic furnishings and colonial style throughout. The elegant dining room and bar opens out onto the raised wooden deck, with magnificent views over the rim flow swimming pool and busy waterhole below. Little Tuningi is linked to the main lodge via elevated timber walkways, and has its own viewing deck, pool and boma area, perfect for families or small groups.
Four spacious suites are connected to the main camp by wooden walkways, and the use of natural thatch, timbers and stone in soft organic colours gives a beautifully relaxed yet ultra luxurious feel. All are en-suite, with fireplaces, fabulous outdoor rock showers and private wrap-around wooden decks. A short distance from the main camp is Little Tuningi - a double family suite and additional villa offering a sumptuous private option, with its own viewing deck, boma and swimming pool.
Tuningi is renowned for quality game viewing, with guided bush walks, early morning and late afternoon drives offering the opportunity to spot a wide variety of wildlife. Look out for rarities like black rhino and African wild dogs, plus herds of elephant, buffalo, large prides of lion, and leopard. A fantastic kids' programme keeps the children busy while parents can enjoy a spa treatment between drives. The permanent waterhole nearby often produces phenomenal sightings from the deck, particularly in winter.
It’s easily accessible, malaria-free and you’ll spot the Big Five – what’s not to love?
