Ulusaba Rock Lodge will be closed for an exciting refurbishment from 26 January 2026 and reopening on 31 March 2027.
Ulusaba Rock Lodge is situated in the exclusive Sabi Sand Reserve bordering the Kruger National Park. It is owned by Sir Richard Branson, so you can be assured that you are in for a special experience. Built high on a hilltop, this extra-ordinary child-friendly lodge offers uninterrupted panoramic views of the bushveld and the roaming wildlife below. Ulusaba offers great hospitality and amazing cuisine. There are just ten rooms, ensuring an intimate experience. The lodge's design reflects African tribal influences and style. There are two game drives a day where you can enjoy Sabi Sabi's incredible game-viewing experiences.




The comfortable main lounge is a great place to enjoy the views, relax with a book or watch a movie. The viewing deck at the top of the lodge offers even better views of the bush. Telescopes are provided for guests to zoom in on the wildlife. The Aroma Boma Spa is located 800 metres over the bush and offers complete privacy. The gym is well-equipped for a good workout and the main outdoor pool is heated in winter.
There are eight rooms and suites at Rock Lodge, including the Master Suite, Makwela Suites, Rock Cliff rooms and the two-bedroom Rock Suite. Some are built on split levels. Rooms are spacious and offer en-suite bathrooms. The suites can accommodate children and some have private plunge pools. The style combines traditional and modern African design using thatch, leadwood, muslin, the finest linen, and wide decks with breathtaking views. The Makwela Suites have a separate living area and study/library area.
Enjoy incredible game-viewing experiences on your two daily game drives in the Sabi Sabi Private Reserve or view the roaming wildlife from the comfort of the lodge, 800 feet above the bushveld. Bush walks and community visits are also available. Have a workout at the gym or get pampered at the spa. Astronomy enthusiasts can go to the bush observatory to observe the bright southern skies at night.
