About Victoria Can Tho Resort

Tucked away at the river's edge, all the perks of a resort but with the heart of a home.
A picture of bygone charm, Victoria Resort was built to emulate a classic French villa and wrapped in peach walls with white colonnaded verandas, it's just the place to live out all your riviera dreams. Wooden walkways lead down manicured lawns for a stroll beside the water, a view enjoyed from grassy roof terraces and scenic cruises on the Lady Hau. The spacious rooms are a sunny mix of bohemian and provincial, offering a welcome return after a day spent cycling through the countryside or browsing the floating markets of Can Tho. Away from the madding crowds, relaxation comes easily here.

Property details

The property

A tasty medley of international and Vietnamese fare is on the menu at Spices Restaurant. Beneath simple iron chandeliers or out on the terrace, tuck into spicy seafood soup or deep fried elephant fish served in sliced bamboo. The open-sided Cuu Long Bar has a vintage flair with grand wooden columns - plus a pool table. Nestled at the river's edge, the spa village has seven thatched treatment huts. The courtyard is populated by a duo of large pools and numerous alfresco lounges.

The rooms

Punctuated by a splash of yellow decor and heavy wooden furniture, each room has a large bed decked out with patterned runners. French doors open onto a balcony with a view of the gardens or river. Painted scenes by local artists dot the walls and the en-suite bathrooms are bright with double sinks, expansive mirrors and a joint bath/shower. There are just eight suites with wide archways leading into a separate living room. Other amenities include a writing desk, swirling ceiling fans and a mini bar.

Activities

As the largest city in the Mekong Delta, Can Tho has plenty to see. Explore the sculpted waterfront gardens - eyeing out trinkets at the floating markets - and stopping to visit gilded temples. Take your breakfast or a sunset dinner while cruising on the Hau River, or venture further into the Delta to experience life on the water. Set in a garden on stilts, the Khmer Pagoda is rather special. Learn to weave a basket and cook pho like a pro along the way.
