Property details

The property

In the far-flung and epic Serengeti, Wayo always finds the remotest of places to set up camp, often getting within a hair's breadth of the Great Migration. After a day's safari, sip sundowners on the riverbank and tuck into hearty meals prepared in the kitchen or over a sizzling fire, the snorts and shuffles of wildlife as your soundtrack. The main tent is a casual space with a bar area built from chunky, wooden crates and lounge furnished with cushioned benches and bean bags.

The rooms

Dotted amongst the acacias in a secluded corner of the Serengeti, Wayo's tents are truly immersive. They're made with sheer, gauze exteriors so you can gaze at the night sky before dozing off, and the sunrise will wake you along with the thunder of the migrating wildebeest. The large beds are draped in soft linens, and homely touches include cosy blankets, a woven basket holding your towels, and glass water bottles. After your day's activities, a hot bucket shower in the open-air bathroom awaits.

Activities

As you may have guessed, your time is all about walking here - and we mean epic, dream-fulfilling walks, all led by an expert guide. If you're here in migration season, you'll follow the roar of the Great Migration as they gallop across the plains, pursued by big cats on the hunt. Each day is planned in the hopes of adding as many ticks to your safari wish list as possible and whatever the time of year, you'll spot elephant, giraffe, plains game and hippo wallowing in the rivers.
