Wayo's small, comfortable camps are designed to fit on a trailer that is towed into the bush and set up before your arrival. The meals and the majority of the preparations are done before the walk, and a small crew joins the team for the final meal preparations and to help around the camp, so there's no long wait for comfort and sustenance. Delicious meals are served under the stars; if the weather is bad, there's a small mess tent.
The main tents used during a safari are three-man dome-style tents with more than enough room for two people. Comfortable 10-cm mattresses are placed on the ground, with cotton-covered duvets and cotton sheets to keep you cosy. The bathroom is a small distance behind the tent. Toilets are shallow pit latrines and the showers are bucket-style. More adventurous travellers can request to sleep in a gauze-walled star tent for an all-night view of the disco-ball night sky.
Spend most of your day walking through the vast Tarangire wilderness and enjoying the natural environment, appreciating the creatures big and small, investigating the tracks and signs of the bush, and breathing in all that fresh air. There are photographic opportunities at every turn. Game drives between some of the camps can be arranged, giving you the chance to settle back and watch the wildlife while in transit.
