About Ylang Heritage Line Cruise

Wellness on the water in Vietnam's most serene corner of Halong Bay.

Lan Ha Bay is Halong Bay's quieter, less-trampled sibling – the same ethereal landscape of jade-green waters and towering karsts, but without the flotilla of tourist junks. And gliding through it all is Heritage Line Ylang, a boutique vessel that takes wellness cruising rather seriously. With just ten suites and a maximum of twenty guests, the three-day voyage is unhurried and utterly immersive. Expect sunrise Tai Chi on the terrace deck, singing bowl meditation after dinner, and a spa occupying half the main deck. Between the cycling through remote fishing villages and kayaking past limestone cliffs, this is a cruise for those who want to exhale properly.

Property details

The property

Ylang's interiors draw heavily on Indochinese heritage, with floral motifs inspired by Vietnamese poetry adorning dark wood panels and handcrafted artwork throughout. The glass-wrapped restaurant offers near 360-degree views, making every meal a spectacle of passing karsts and moody skies. A cosy library lounge provides the perfect spot for quiet contemplation, while the terrace deck – complete with jacuzzi pool and shaded sun loungers – is where sundowners are best enjoyed. Most impressive is the vast spa wing: three treatment rooms, a steam bath, sauna and reflexology corner using organic French Thalgo products.

The rooms

All ten suites are generously proportioned with separate lounge areas, king-sized beds facing panoramic windows, and private balconies for watching the scenery drift by. Bathrooms feature both walk-in showers and soaking tubs positioned by the windows – quite the way to watch the sun rise over the karsts. The six Signature Suites occupy the main deck, while the four Regency Suites above are larger still, each individually designed around a seasonal flower theme. Think cherry blossom mosaics, handwoven textiles and accents of blush and silver. The top-tier Regency Suites add private outdoor jacuzzis, should you wish to soak beneath the stars.

What you'll love

What you'll love

The sheer space and serenity. With a maximum of twenty guests aboard and a spa that rivals many shore-based retreats, you'll wonder why all cruises aren't this calm and considered.

Insiders tip

Insiders Tip

Book one of the named Regency Suites – Grace Orchid, Pure Lotus, Royal Bamboo or Glory Daisy – for a private outdoor jacuzzi with views across the bay. Worth it.
