Property details

The property

In addition to sleeping tents, Zambezi Expeditions has a large, open-air main tent where breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served. Breakfast traditionally includes fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, cereals, toasted bread and marmalade and is followed by your morning game drive. High tea is served in the afternoons and at night dinner is served around a communal table or around a bonfire. There's ample seating at the main tent and a mobile bar where you can place your orders for sundowners.

The rooms

Zambezi Expeditions offers 6 twin-bedded meru-style tents with en-suite bathroom facilities. Each tent comprises of 2 single beds, a hanging cupboard, an outside patio area with chairs and a bathroom that comes with an al-fresco shower and flushing toilet. These canvas tents are finished in natural fabrics and each boasts exquisite views of the Zambezi River and the Zambian Mountain escarpment. Tents are equipped with fresh towels and linen, 12-volt lighting and charging facilities for cameras.

Activities

Zambezi Expeditions specialises in walking safaris through the park and canoeing safaris along the four pools after which the park is named. Some of the local residents you may encounter en-route include eland, elephant, African wild dogs, water buck, big herds of buffalo, kudu, lion and leopard. The river also boasts some of Africa's top Tiger fishing (catch and release), which can be undertaken either from the banks or off an island in the middle of the river. Daily game drives on an open 4x4 Land Cruiser are offered to all guests.
