The property

On the roof top of Zanzibar Serena hotel is the exclusive open-air Terrace Restaurant which looks out over the bay and offers freshly-caught sea food. There is a choice of indoor or outdoor dining around the pool terrace, which again commands wonderful views of the Ocean. There are weekly Swahili banquets served around the pool and BBQ's serving up culinary delights on the beach.

The rooms

The Serena Inn offers a total of 51 rooms of varying sizes, standard rooms, prime rooms and suites. All the rooms are beautifully furnished in a traditional Swahili style with ensuite bathrooms, air conditioning, satellite TV and Wi-Fi. The rooms are bright and airy with tall ceilings and four-poster beds which are draped in mosquito netting and are generously king-sized.

Activities

The colourful bazaars, ancient harbour and sights of Stone Town surround the hotel, spice tours of the island and visits to the Sultan's baths, slave caves and slave market can all be arranged. Diving on one of the world's most renowned dive sites, dhow trips, dolphin, turtle and humpback whale watching are all highly recommended. The hotel has a large swimming pool to enjoy as well as treatment rooms for a relaxing massage.
