Akan-Mashu National Park provides an idyllic playground for its guests to explore, whether you fancy ambling beside the mountains and lakes on foot, or canoeing across the water. You can also take a boat ride across Lake Akan to visit the Marimo Exhibition and Observation Centre to learn about the curious microcosms of algae, or pay a visit to the Ainu Village and museum to hear about the lives of the unique people. In winter, snowmobiling and a number of other 'frozen' sports are available.
