Amakhala Leeuwenbosch Country House Stay Pay Special
The country house is an original family homestead, with five suites opening out onto wide verandas and rolling lawns which lead down to the swimming pool. Inside the house, a long corridor links the guest suites to the comfortable lounge and stone-walled cellar bar area. Meals are served in the dining room a short stroll from the manor, or out in the bush for a more informal barbecue under the stars. Shearer's Lodge is set back from the manor house.
Each of the five Country House suites are individually styled to reflect the colonial feel of the Settler era, with antique furniture, beautiful linens and historical artwork adorning the walls. The largest can be used as a family room. Shearer's Lodge is a short distance across the gardens, and this original shearing shed has been transformed into four contemporary en-suite rooms with light wooden ceilings, neutral tones and understated modern luxury. Each one faces onto the estate grounds.
Traditional safari activities include morning and afternoon game drives, and guided bush walks. Cruise the tranquil waters of the Bushman's River to search for Cape clawless otters and the rare African finfoot, together with a variety of the more commonly encountered species coming down to drink. Between safaris, head out to explore the surrounding areas - there are some stunning beaches, quaint small towns and places of interest nearby, or simply relax and enjoy Leeuwenbosch's laid-back country feel.
