Ant’s Hill is perched on the edge of a cliff and offers breath-taking views across the Waterberg. The thatched main lodge boasts a spacious shared living area, bar and dining room, with fireplaces for chilly evenings. A large veranda and deck overhang the gorge and are ideal for enjoying breakfasts and sundowners, and an outdoor boma is perfect for dinner around a crackling bonfire. The heated swimming pool has a view forever, and overlooks a waterhole teeming with game.
The cottages at Ant’s Hill are constructed with local stone, gnarled wood and thatched roofs and are furnished with exotic furniture and brightly coloured African fabrics. Each cottage is uniquely designed, with vast folding doors opening onto a veranda. The individual bathrooms are spectacular, with sunken tub baths and waterfall showers. The view from each room is something to write home about, and the veranda is the perfect place to sit and watch the Waterberg world go by.
Activities at Ant’s Hill are centred around fabulous game viewing. Horseback safaris are an unforgettable way to get up close to wild animals. Bush walks are fabulous for learning detailed knowledge of the local flora and fauna, and traditional game drives allow more distance to be covered. Ant’s Hill also offers mountain biking and running through the reserve and a fascinating night sky safari.
