About Asanja Moru Camp

Wildlife galore and lions that roar in the dark as you dine.
Tucked away in grasslands of the Serengeti and surrounded by rocky outcrops known as the Moru Kopjes is a luxury tented camp called Asanja Africa. Located in the south-central section, right in the path of the annual Great Migration, this is the go-to camp if you want to experience being really close to the action (the sheer number of animals is awe-inspiring), without compromising your safety and the mod cons that make life so much easier.

Property details

The property

Guests gather in the main area to chat in the lounge and have an aperitif or two at the well-stocked bar, and to enjoy gourmet food in the dining area. Missing some background music? Listen to the roar of lions and the hysterical screeching of hyaenas as these nocturnal predators hunt for prey in the velvety darkness.

The rooms

This intimate and exclusive camp has just seven luxury guest tents. Each is decorated in a style that represents a traditional Maasai ceremony, such as the Enkiama (marriage ceremony) tent, which is furnished with touches of red, signifying unity, and the beaded items that are worn by women during the wedding ceremony. The tents are spacious with en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers and a private veranda where you can relax and watch the greatest wildlife show on earth.

Activities

The Serengeti is known for its ability to deliver game as far as the eye can see. So the animals are clearly the main reason for your visit. However, you can also visit a Maasai village or take a hot-air balloon safaris. It's a paradise for birdwatchers too: with more than 350 recorded species including 34 raptors, it's a stunning destination.
