The guesthouse and gardens have been renovated sensitively, combining contemporary, elegant style with the property's French and South African roots. The main area has a gorgeously comfortable lounge, an ample kitchen in which breakfast is served and a sunny patio on which other meals (expect first-class cuisine) are taken. Take in the views from the patios, cool off in the salt-water swimming pool, or relax in the Jacuzzi or large garden area. You're made to feel right at home.
There are eight large suites to choose from at Avondrood, all luxuriously decorated with individual themes and character. An example is the Old Village room, whose original high wooden ceilings and loads of character make it a great space in which to enjoy your stay. The superior rooms encapsulate local charm, with private entrances and views of the garden. The superior deluxe rooms have private terraces or gardens, and the top-floor two-bedroom family suite offers superb mountain views.
If you need rest, stay in and enjoy Avondrood's tranquil gardens, pool, Jacuzzi and mountain views from the veranda. Head into the pretty village (just a short walk away) to explore the historical buildings and museums, shop for curios and sample local cuisne and wines. Outdoor activities such as cycling, horse riding, hiking and golf are available too.
