Azura Benguerra Island Lodge's communal spaces have stone walls, wooden flooring and high, palm-thatched roofs, making for a cool interior. The areas are chicly decorated in fresh beach style, with the lounge area furnished in a soothing palette of pastel blues and greens. The food is excellent and it's served at private wooden tables. There is also a small library, spa, diving centre and an interesting beach bar. Guests can relax on the exterior decks' scattered recliners and shaded seating or beneath thatched salas on the beach.
The lodge offers a variety of accommodation, all echoing the style of the main lodge. Villa Amizade and the Presidential Villa are ideal for family groups; 10 Infinity Beach Villas have prime beachfront locations; the Beach Villas combine Afro-chic style and beach views; and the trio of Beach Villas, although still roomy, are the smallest of the properties and perfect for intimacy and romance. All are spacious and luxurious, with private pools, comfy furnishings, coffee stations, air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms.
The primary activity at Azura Benguerra is relaxation, whether that be on the beach, cocktail in hand, or at the in-house spa. For those needing a little more adventure in their day, a wide variety of beach- and water-based activities are offered, such as scuba diving, a catch-of-the-day beach braai (barbecue), deep-sea catch-and-release fishing, fly fishing, cruises in a traditional dhow, cultural tours and lots more.
